before using -some medicines or medical conditions may interact with this medicine. using this medicine alone, with other sedating medications and non-sedating medications, with alcohol or in the presence of a sleep disorder may less your ability to drive or to perform other potentially dangerous tasks. it may also be used to treat other conditions as determined by your doctor. this medicine may be taken on an empty stomach or with food. talk with your doctor if this medicine stops working well. additional monitoring of your dose or condition may be needed if you are taking ciprofloxacin, medicines for anxiety (such as diazepam), medicines for mental or mood problems (such as risperidone), medicines for depression (such as fluoxetine), digoxin, theophylline, levodopa, estrogens, phenothiazines (such as chlorpromazine), butyrophenones (such as haloperidol), thioxanthenes (such as thiothixene), or metoclopramide. do not breast-feed while taking this medicine. some conditions may become worse when the medicine is suddenly stopped. ask your pharmacist if you have questions about which medicines are depressants. store this medicine at room temperature between 68 and 77 degrees f (20 and 25 degrees c) in a tightly-closed container, away from heat, moisture, and light.
